Theme for the day: The Tucson, AZ shooting of Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords on Saturday, January 8th
Glenn monitored the news after the event on the weekend for someone to say to stop with the politicization of the shooting. It did not happen.
He issues a challenge to leaders to pull us together and to stand for peace and principle. For the Republic. The challenge is in full at http://www.glennbeck.com/.
He showed a video clip of the local Tucson sheriff, Clarence Dupnick blaming public rhetoric for the shooter’s motivation – without any facts.
The Fox network did not engage in speculation about the incident, unlike the others.
The Left’s recipe for revolution – a reminder. From the Congressional Record…
- Have a solution.
- Have people in power in government.
- Create (or exploit) problems.
- Overwhelm and collapse the system.
- Get people to rise up.
- Top down imposition of predetermined solution.
The Left has been demonizing the opposition for years with zero facts. He showed pictures of past problem people. All were initially claimed to be on the Right. But later, all were determined to be on the Left.
- The man who hanged himself with a message scrawled on his chest.
- The school board shooter.
- The guy who flew an airplane into the IRS building.
The AZ shooter thought that President Bush was behind 9/11, the Mars Rover was a fake, and two of his favorite books were The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf.
The shooter was not a Right wing nut job. He was not a Left wing nut job. He was just a nut job.
When the people who high jacked the planes on 9/11 and flew them into buildings, the media’s mantra was not to blame the group to which they all belonged. Instead, we were to look at them as individuals. However, the shooter in Saturday’s incident was immediately, without facts, associated with conservatives.
The Left is playing politics with a national tragedy.
Glenn noted several public statements condemning the Fox network, himself and Sara Palin for comments they make on and off the air. Glenn feels these verbal attacks are so transparent no one is buying them.
He showed a clip of his only mention of Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords on his radio show. During the clip he was heard lauding her for showing political courage.
Leading to the break, he showed a short clip of various people he met in Wilmington, OH during the time he was there for his December 15th program.
The shooter, Laughmer’s background includes…
- Severely mentally disturbed.
- A belief system that was not rational.
- He was an atheist and a 9/11 “Truther”.
- He feared a global currency.
- He cited The Communist Manifesto.
In short, he was mentally deranged.
Glenn invites leaders to call for renouncing violence. He only expects one person to agree. That person is Sara Palin.
His 9/12 Project was based on values and principles. It started about the same time as the TEA Party.
His 8/28 rally was to bring attention to our higher selves.
His e4 Project started this year.
At the end, he showed a picture of the 9-year-old girl killed in the shooting and hoped that her death would not be in vain.
